A PhD position is open in the IMAGIN Lab lead by Pr Nadjia Kara at Ecole de Technologie Supιrieure, Montreal, Canada on the control and optimization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles using AI/ML techniques in collaboration with a leading Canadian company in the field of aerospace engineering (https://www.notostechnologies.com/). It is unnecessary to motivate the opportunity and timeliness of this exciting research topic, which blends machine learning, artificial intelligence, and UAV applications.
Applicants should have:
- A MSc degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, operation research, pure/applied mathematics, electrical engineering, physics.
- Good knowledge of computer networking and Internet of Things.
- Prior experience in Machine Learning and AI (e.g., CNN, RNN, RL) and mathematical models/tools will be preferred.
- Prior experience and good knowledge of mathematical optimization and modeling techniques.
- Good knowledge of theoretical probability and graph theory.
- Prior experience and good programming skills especially in C++, Python, and Matlab
- English proficiency with good communication skills.
Scholarships details :
The scholarship is 20K $CA (extra funds could be provided for outstanding candidates), internal scholarships are available (~7500 $CA), financial support for the dissemination and promotion of research work (~1000 $CA), and most importantly an international tuition waiver is provided for international students.
